Why Choose Us?

98% of previous CLN trainees have secured a teaching post upon qualification

It isn’t always easy to choose between teacher training providers but here are some of the strengths that help us to stand out:

We are dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment and have a very strong focus on well-being.

We recognise that everyone has a different journey to becoming a teacher and we are committed to providing individualised support throughout the journey.

We have very strong relationships with our partnership schools and have now extended our partnerships across Dorset to include Blandford, Wimborne, Swanage, Ferndown and Bournemouth as well as Poole.

We have a strong focus on building excellent working relationships with our trainees as well as encouraging the relationships between trainees through Professional Reflection Hubs recognising how important a support network is during your teacher training year.

We have a high employment rate and we are dedicated to supporting trainees through the process of applying jobs. We provide workshops on writing job applications, and interview skills as well as providing opportunities for mock interviews.

We provide a high quality programme and are always keen for feedback to make improvements. We aim to find the best people to provide training to the trainees. All training is in the local area therefore you don’t need to travel far.

The front loaded structure of our programme means that not only do trainees start their placements at the very start of the Autumn term, but in the summer term, trainees can really focus on being in the classroom preparing them for life as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) having completed most tasks and academic assignments by this point.

We have a commitment to the trainees after qualifying: we continue to work alongside our previous trainees as they settle into their new class and life as a teacher. We are also fully involved in all aspects of facilitation and assessment on the new ECT programme.

The past few years have encouraged us all to work more flexibly. Our commitment to working closely with both our trainees and school partners means that we are able to regularly review and adapt to provide ongoing support.

If you don’t have a degree but are interested in pursuing a career in teaching, The Learning Institute facilitate a Foundation Degree out of a hub in Poole and the CLN are involved in administrating and hosting this course at Kingsleigh Primary School.
